Fullmetal Alchemist tells the story about 2 young brothers and there hardships to bring there body's back to normal after Edward Elric's right arm, left leg and Alphonse Elric's whole body were taken as payment for a failed attempt to bring there mother back to life. The plot was well written with few filler episodes in the mix although with the comedic and tear jerking moments every second is worth watching. Progression of the story runs smoothly and is easy to follow but at the same time there were enough surprises to keep me more then interested and hungry for more. Though this anime starts of fun and comedic, with few truly serious parts, that changes through out the anime getting darker as it progresses more as they face the hardships that are thrown there way.
The characters of the anime are well established and they make sure to take a little time to let you really get a feel for them, explaining the back stories while working them into the over all plot. I found the antagonists in this anime to be relate-able and in some episodes you are even on there side, but of course like most good anime the real problem in the story is not things that people have done but just things that happen and everyone has to deal with such as death, sickness and the feeling of not being enough.
I strongly recommend watching this anime.
